The journal’s title Ernährungs Umschau reflects what we contain

When the Ernährungs Umschau started the new section Ernaehrungs1 Umschau international in 2013, there were some critical questions: Can a scientific journal printed in German assert itself under the intense international competition? Is it worth the costs and effort for the peer review procedures and the specialist translations of the free access articles? And last but not least: Are there enough submissions of adequate quality?

After three years, we can conclude that this has been worth the effort. With an average of 210 pages per year and additional online supplements, the section is now well established. The international online edition of the English language articles has its own page numbers and is now even easier to reach with the “EN” button to the left of the search function in the main navigation of www.ernaehrungs-umschau.de. Aside from German language articles, contributions in English are now submitted.
