Tests on sensory preference were performed on 138 children aged between 2 and 7 years. The aim was to determine preferences for ecological and conventional foods, in the context of potential sensory imprinting from nutrition in the first year of life and later.

There was no general preference for ecological or conventional foods. The specific sensory characteristics of a food appeared to be decisive for the preference for a food or for its popularity. Only a few correlations were found between sensory decisions at the age of 2–7 years and the consumption of self-produced supplementary food at the age of 9 months or nutrition after the first year of life.
